INSPECTION OF FREE FROM FLIGHTED SPONGY MOTH COMPLEX (FSMC)
FLIGHTED SPONGY MOTH COMPLEX (FSMC) is considered a major invasive environmental pest that can affect a wide variety of trees.
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Canadian Food Inspect Agency (CFIA) had enacted regulations or guidelines requiring the inspection for free from FSMC on June 2007 to mitigate their infestation.
All commercial vessels arriving in North America that have visited high risk ports in regulated areas which were designated by both governments, during the egg-laying season of the FSMC, will be required for pre departure vessel inspection and certification of free from FSMC.
We ANCC are recognized by USDA and CFIA to carry out inspection and issue FSMC free certificate. New Zealand, Chile and Argentina are also requesting for valid FSMC free certificate and vessels arriving in Australia will be inspected for free condition of FSMC.
